I have been an iconographer for over 30 years.

I have completed various icon courses in Slovakia between years 1990 and 2000

under the guidance of Mrs Angelika Nedoroscikova-Birosova, father Kamil Drab

and spiritual help of father Emil Zorvan.

While living in Scotland I studied under Aidan Hart, a well known English hagiographer, in three year Diploma course of Monumental and Icon Painting and under Adrian Iurco, a well known Romanian fresco iconograher,

through Prince's School of Traditional Arts based in London.

Icons from my studio are cherished in churches as well as in private collections

in Slovakia,Italy, Scotland,England,Poland,The Ukraine and Russia.

I paint/write my icons by egg tempera using natural and artificial powder pigments.

Holy icons from my workshop are born on hard wood panels such as poplar and lime wood.

Panels over A 4 size always have 1 or 2 battens on the back to prevent warping.

The panels have raised borders,kovtceg.

All work with the preparation of wood is meticulously done by my husband Zdenko

including gessoing, sanding and polishing.

For gilding on panel images I always use genuine gold leaf in water-gilding (mirror likeness) or oil gilding (matte shine).

I paint large scale icons on canvases ( e.g. 1 m by 1.2 m ) or murals in churches or homes usually with acrylic or egg tempera.

I enjoy to paint Paschal candles, paint and sew Liturgical cloths,e,g, Epitaphios (Επιτάφιος) and lectern covers. I do decorative gilding and painting on glass as well.
