A timeless stranger before, today I stop pushing myself into a structure that never works for me. Today I am going to take advantage of the different perspectives that life is offering me. I embrace myself as an artist, knowing that this will help me find the right connection to the world; I want to understand and be understood.
I want to go into life with quiet wisdom, finding the balance in every experience. I want my art to awake itself from here into new perspectives, dancing around realities, colors, textures, ideas and dreams. I want to embrace diversity: I believe in its richness and acknowledge it as a revolutionary tool for my art.
As a mixed media artist, my creative process has no boundaries defined by the appropriateness of a medium, a technique, style or school of thought. My work evolves from within itself through an empiric process, with new materials and combinations that allow me to create innovative textures and sensations.
When I find myself reclaiming new uses for small and discarded things in my mind, I know it is time to start a new project. These reclaimed objects become “raw” materials in my art having a statement of their own, one that allows me to reduce waste and be cost effective, but also allows my pieces to become a testimony of the organic flow and constant transformation of objects, images and artifacts. Whenever I re-use or re-cycle something into my work, it suddenly takes on a new life, a new meaning and a new path.
I want my art to be a free uninterrupted stream of feelings, strong and steady, an organic equilibrium of the empiric fusion of different materials. I want to evolve into an artist with no fear expressing a wide range of feelings, sensations and ideals. I want to be true to myself and more importantly, I want to be true to my community.
I promise, I will never stop searching for better or more effective ways of communication. Although I am constantly looking for harmony and rhythm in my compositions, I am aware that aesthetic paradigms are far more complex than that, and I am planning to explore new approaches.
