Midwest Railway Preservation Society
Drag to set position!
Have a passion for steam, steel, oil, and large machines? Want to help repair and restore vintage railroad equipment? Willing to get a bit dirty and “hands on” with real units? Then you might want to consider becoming a member of the Midwest Railway Preservation Society (MRPS)!
Our all-volunteer membership is of all ages and from every profession and background. If you’ve already got a trade or skill, that’s great. If not, all we ask is that you’re willing to learn. We’ll give you the chance to develop skills and abilities that most people can only dream about – including becoming a brakeman, conductor, or engineer!
Besides being 18 or older, our membership requirements are simple:
share our passion for railroading;
be ready to lend a safe, helping hand;
respect our equipment and facility; and
be willing to get involved!
And even if you’re not really into the mechanical side, you may prefer to help out with administration, fundraising, public relations, newsletter, excursions, or other activities. So whatever your interests and talents, we’ve got a place for you!
