These days I figured out there's two things: Having people on your contact list and actually dealing with what they do. Can't remember for how long I do have her among my contacts, but so far I failed to completely and in-depth honour most of her visual doings - until now. Virtually fell into the whole of her collection, fell through the images and visions, dreams and "visual poetry" to be found there, and ended up plain and simply stunned. There are very few people who are as inspiring as Teodoratan. Her images are beautiful and complex, with multiple levels of metaphor and meaning. She is a real artist in the full sense of the word. Her style is unique and compelling. There is a great deal of process apparent in each picture. Of course, photography is the basis but the process perfects it. Many of her images are like multiple sessions with a skilled psychotherapist. They delve deep into the psyche and reveal emotions and issues that most people never touch. As a practicing psychotherapist myself, I use this Flickr addiction mostly to distance myself from the issues and problems that I deal with in my professional life. But Teodoratan's artistry is so fantastic that I am drawn to contemplate many of the works in this collection. Often I find myself expressing my reactions in poetic metaphor. Instead of running from the vicarious emotions that I deal with on a daily basis Teodoratan enables me to deal with them head-on. In addition to being a wonderful artist Teodoratan has proven to be a wonderful friend. She has been generous with her comments and I truly look forward to them. I can only wish Teodoratan success in all of her endeavors, be it in the Flickr world or, more importantly, her real life.
