Hi, I'm Jaasir, 23 years young and an aspiring photographer from The Netherlands. I have a passion for street-, photojournalistic and documentary photography.

I get my inspiration mostly out of observing ordinary daily life and from work of: Trent Parke, Josef Koudelka, Alex Webb, Costa Manos, Jeff Mermelstein, Garry Winogrand, Joel Meyerowitz, Martin Parr and of course Henri Cartier-Bresson and other Magnum photographers.

 

I always cary an (analog) camera with me, 'cause you never know what might happen or what you ran into.

 

I always shoot with my Voigtlander Bessa R2 or my Yashica T5. Both with 400asa black and white film (sometimes pushed to 800 or 1600), with a fixed 35mm lens. Like Capa said: "If your pictures aren't good enough, you aren't close enough."

Although this isn't always the case, I prefer to be close to my subjects and just love a 35mm lens.

 

I occasionally shoot with throwaway cameras, a DSLR and my Leica M8.,
