Masters in Fisheries Biology, following professional diploma on poverty focused monitoring and evaluation from East Anglia, Norwich, UK.Substantial development Experiences (20 years) in technical, social and disaster risk reduction and management fields. A wide range of experience in managing a number of multi-sectoral projects and programme both for ODA/DfID and Practical Action since 1992. Currently managing two, biggest Practical Action’s projects (Asia Pacific Gold Award wining “Disappearing Lands Project” and “Pathway From Poverty Project; a scale up project of DLP (funded by EEP-shiree) in 4 districts in NW Bangladesh, particularly for the communities affected by floods and river erosion. Demonstrated experience and skills in managing multisectoral projects and programmes ranging from on farm and off farm activities; infrastructure development; emergency response & rehabilitation; volunteer group development; development of community based rapid evacuation system; social & civil rights based initiatives supported by hand on experience and knowledge in concept generation, project formulation, project implementation & management through partnership, budgeting, M & E, documentation & donor reporting, Fund Raising, capacity building training, human resource management and administration.
Additionally, my experience has enriched with proven and documented results in policy advocacy and influence both at national and international level for the high profile policy makers, development practitioners, educational institutions and researchers. Innovator of “sand bar cropping technology (vegetable production system on the river basin) and floating garden” concept generator of integrated rural resettlement through utilization of barren common property natural resources (lands and water) particularly for the resource poor living on the edge of mighty rivers in Bangladesh.
