I will be 80 on my next birthday. I am a child of the '60s living in Western rural Montana. Call me a street photographer, roaming around with a camera where there are crowds of people is my favorite photo gig. I was born and raised in sweet home Chicago, living most of the time in Rogers Park right near the lake. I will always love the Chicago of my youth, it was a great town to grow up in, the diversity of people and cultures was the best education. I have always made photographs my entire adult life. After almost 80 years on the planet, I discovered that I am a street photographer, With the invention of digital photography I can make as many photographs as I want and not worry about the cost. Small town living is much easier than big cities when you are a senior, less crime and less speedy lifestyle. More time to read and smell the roses. I hope you like my photographs. If, using film were not so expensive I would still do film photography, another consideration is the chemicals involved in film photography. I could never do work in a darkroom so digital works for me. I would predict that in another ten years that film will no longer exist. Every time I think about using one of the many film cameras I still own I ask myself what reason do I have to spend money on film and processing when I can use one of my high-end digital cameras. No reason, if I need a hard copy I can print it on my inkjet printer. Michael Sokol Hamilton Montana Akitaluck@gmail.com
