May 2014:
It has taken me almost two-and-a-half years to upload some images to my photostream, but I finally did so a few days ago. Because I don't consider myself a photographer, my main inspiration for adding something to Flickr came about as a result of the cancer journey we've been on for the past several months with our Boxer, Scarlett. Hopefully some of what I've written in description of the first photo I uploaded of her will be of help to someone else.
It's a start...
January 2012:
Though it is selfish, I am currently at a take-in state when it comes to activity here on Flickr. It's a place I visit to relax and destress. It has been wonderful to discover such extraordinary photographs--these images inspire, intrigue, and soothe. They let one escape a bit from the rigors of day-to-day living.
I very much enjoy arm chair traveling via Flickr to places I hope to visit someday, and those I more than likely never will, but find interesting nonetheless. They also allow me to indulge, to my heart's content, in subjects that are near and dear to me without bothering or boring anyone else. I've been a lifelong lover of horses and Boxer dogs--you'll find many of those types of photos assembled in my favorites.
I guess the only way I'm giving back right now is by sharing my favorite photos that others have taken. What you'll find are images that bring me joy and paint somewhat of a picture of who I am. Much time is spent selecting photos that mean the most to me. I greatly appreciate the beauty I've come across and those who readily share their images, as well as the time and effort put into taking them!
Like many within the Flickr community, I enjoy photographs... I've always been drawn to them whether or not they're my own. They tell stories, they evoke emotions, they bring respite. I'm thankful for being able to marvel at and soak in the wonderful imagery that's contributed by so many. Abundant thanks goes out to one and all!
So, at this time, I am a collector of favorites... I hope you enjoy what I've assembled!
