I shoot for fun. I shot things that I like. Occasionally I shoot stuff that is just plain interesting.

I like food, old churches and boats. Actually I like planes, trains and automobiles as well. I single-hand a 30' sailboat, I fish only for musky and I cook over charcoal when I'm at home with the grill. I think Heinlein had it right when he said the following: "A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects."

I started off with a Chinon 35mm film camera. I then went a long time with nothing but I received my first digital, a Canon Powershot A70, in 2003 ( I think). I killed that camera, too many shots apparently and bought myself a Pentax *ist-DL and have since upgraded to a Pentax K200D. I have used my Blackberry camera and now I use my Android camera regularly. And I get some great shots with them.

I'm always trying to learn a different way of shooting something. I would like to think I can take direction and advice.

I went with Pentax for a couple of reasons. Lenses were the primary thing. 50-60 years worth to be exact. They all work great!

Batteries are another. I hate proprietary systems ( I use Linux not Windows or a Mac) and being stuck at the cottage or on the boat with a proprietary pack that can't be charged, sucks. Even my original Canon P&S was AA powered.

And for those that care, I am way over 18.
