Drag to set position!
I'm an engineer. No, I'm a photographer. No, wait, I'm an engineer. Oh, who cares, I love them both. One's scientific and one's creative. No wait, I mean, one's creative and one's scientific. What do you know, they're both a bit technical and a bit art.
Anyway, being in the auto industry is tough business. I am born and raised in a state that lives and dies on the cars we sell (go by a new one, right now, really, I mean it. Already have one, who cares, buy another. Shoot, how 'bout three!). With the changes in the industry going on today, I cannot help of think back to the steel industry over the last two decades. About 12 months ago, I decided that I need to get off my butt and develop my love of photography into a career. Through a friend, I got connected with a studio photographer and have been apprenticing with him for about a year. I've had a number of shoots on my own and am targeting 2007 as the year I go out on my own for real.
I try to create images that show emotion and connection. Using many of the tools I've learned (strobist.com is priceless), my goal is to use subject driven light to create stunning images. If you enjoy any of the images I've put up, please let me know. I'm open to suggestions too. Don't worry, you can't hurt my feelings. This field is about learning and growing.
I hope you enjoy my art. Thanks for taking the time to read a little about me.
Regards,
Matthew Chapman
