I am a photo hobbyist and automotive enthusiast who loves to travel and enjoys attending automotive events. I started my photographic journey at the young age of 10 when my parents gave me an Argus 75 film camera. I graduated to film SLRs in the 1970s and and studied photography enough to get reasonably good photos. Like most amateur photographers during that time period, I shot Kodacolor and Fujichrome films, so I tend to like brighter colors, particularly reds and greens. My photos are mostly a record of what I saw and are my memories of the past. Since I am trying to create a record of what I saw, I tend to be more of a f/64 than f/1.4 kind of shooter.

I think I have finally learned enough about photo processing to be able to achieve the look for a photo that I envisioned when I took the shot. I'll admit to getting a little carried away with color, contrast, and sharpening. With my old eyes, it takes a lot of each.

I have dabbled in film recently and inadvertently became a camera collector. I have my Nikon FE from around 1980 and another two or three SLRs from that period that I purchased a couple of years ago. I recently inherited my uncle's camera collection (1930s-1960s) and his professional cameras (1950s-1960s).

I suffer from Gear Acquisition Syndrome and have a fairly nice collection of mid-range Canon DSLRs and lenses along with a small Panasonic Micro 4/3 camera for travel. I enjoy owning and using the gear. It is safe to say that the things limiting my photography are are user skill related and not camera gear related.

I hope you enjoy my work and I appreciate your favs and comments. I enjoy looking at your photos. If I have faved your photo, it is because I think it is really excellent.
