I was born in Nuneaton in 1970 and grew up near the former Stockingford station. My dad worked for the Midland Red at Nuneaton garage, which I put my interest into buses and trains down to.
Fast forward to my early teen years trains and railways have now gotten into my blood,i had had an interest in trains for years but one winter evening i was walking home via a friends house in grove farm,it was snowing heavily,i was walking along kingswood road next to the railway when a class 47 on a freight train passed me by slowing for the next signal, sparks flying out of its brake blocks,I ran alongside this train keeping up with the locomotive, something that is impossible to do now for 2 reasons, firstly i'm so unfit ,secondly aldi built a store there 15 years ago or so.
After school I applied for jobs on the railway to no avail, then i got a position on a Youth Training Scheme, through that scheme i got a position as a Trainee Mechanic with Vanguard of Bedworth, later through them i took my P.S.V. test then became a bus driver. In 1992 I went bus driving with Midland Red South at Nuneaton garage. In 2001 i went to work for Chapel End Coaches until I left in 2007 due to a new job on the railway.
Im now a Senior Conductor with London Midland but still maintain my interest in buses and coaches, during some clearing out work i came across many old photographs of buses which has got me into taking photos with my mobile phone camera
