I've been taking photographs for more than 40 years, since my late teens, when I joined a Sydney bushwalking club and then went travelling overseas. I hope my photos inspire people to get out and make the most of life which I certainly have. I am certainly inspired by other Flickr members' photos.

I have had about 4500 slides scanned professionally and am putting quite a few on to Flickr for historical/archival purposes. Some are my fathers from the 1950s-1970s. I have also bought a scanner - a Plustek OptiFilm 7600i SE - to make better quality scans if I need to.

My first camera was a Konica T3. I have also owned a Fuji HD-M (underwater camera - great for canyoning and canoeing trips) a Canon AE-1 Program and a Canon EOS500. Since going digital I have used a Sony Cyber-Shot, a Panasonic TZ-5, a Canon EOS550D and a Sony NEX-6. I presently use a Sony A6000 for hiking and have recently bought a Sony A7r.
