Hey

My name is Michelle, I am living in Dublin, Ireland. I have been taking photographs for over 10 years. It really began in 1997 when I bought my first SLR, an Olympus OM1, which I used to carry with me everywhere. But I was never rich and was precious with using film. When I bought my first DSLR (Nikon D70) in 2006 a whole new world opened up to me. I could take photos without thinking about how much it would cost and my photography improved greatly. In 2008 I learned Photoshop which has expanded that world even more. I use it to enhance the photos to look more like how I remember them. I don't fake scenes as in putting different elements from different shots together. Though I'm not a big fan of HDR.

I'm a big fan of the photographers unique eye and innate quality of the photograph. I love light, it is magical and fleeting and is what I strive to capture as best I can. Needless to say, landscape photography is my favourite subject. But I love looking at all kinds of subjects.

I'm an amateur but the reason I'm on flicrkr is not to garner awards or win the popularity contest but to learn techniques, improve my photography, look at interesting photos and meet new people. Its quality not quantity for me.
