I got my first camera on my 7th birthday (I wanted an SLR, but got a Brownie 127 instead - very traumatic). Got a BA in Biology/Chemistry in 1968, then came to New Mexico in 1970 straight out of the army. I studied photography at UNM in the early '70's. Married to mad-eye p!e - we met when we both worked at Kurt's Camera Corral on Central Ave. in Albuquerque. I love to shoot (photos & targets), camp, fly fish, and read. These days I use a Nikon D300 with a 16-85 VR lens.

I mostly photograph the vernacular architecture of New Mexico, not to document so much as to create portraits of these wizened old visages that seem to speak so eloquently of a rapidly-disappearing era of individualism, self-reliance, and personal integrity.

I have never once checked my yahoo e-mail address - I only got it to sign up for Flickr. If you need to contact me, use Flickrmail.

All prints are for sale - inquire through Flickrmail.

Tip: Retire the first chance you get.

Oh, mad-eye informs me that the list of things I love to do also includes whatever she says...
