I am a taxonomist. Taxonomy is about grouping living things, to figure out how organisms are related. It is about looking at them close up and trying to understand them and learn about them. Nature is both my profession and my hobby.

In Flickr I get to see through other people's eyes, and get to see places and things I would never see by myself. In photography I am an enthusiast.

I used to shoot with Nikon D200, D300, D800, but now with D850 and D7500, combined with a selection of prime lenses and a couple of zooms. I am also beginning to experiment with two old lenses, Contaxt Planar and Zeiss Biotar, which were fixed for Nikon. For snapshots I use iPhone 8+.
