Hi there…
I will HAVE to update this soon . . . but I am just too Damn Busy at the Moment.....I was thinking I should write up a bit of a profile. There is not a great deal to say about me but I will give it a whirl.
I, now that I have just turned 50, have no idea what my life is all about. If you had asked me 10 years ago I may have, or at least thought, I had an answer. But today I find I haven’t a clue.
There were a few things I have always wanted that I finally have like;
*Three bathrooms,
(which now that the kids are gone are no longer needed)
*A police scanner so as to have the skinny on what is going on in our little town,
(every old lady needs one of those)
*The kids to grow up and get their own places,
(I just never meant for those places to be in some other town 8 and 10 hours away) Which they went and did. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
*To not have to work anymore,
(okay that I had right) And Got it.
There are also a few things I now have that I had no idea I was going to need or want, like;
*A little dog
(the last thing I would ever have put on a to get list) but do not know how I lived without.
*A digital camera
(Which we bought for my husband)
(Which 5 months ago I would never have even picked up to look at let alone try to use)
(Which the week we got it the two of us went out and he let me try and well … 2 hours later I said) “Wow am I ever glad you bought me this camera!”
I learnt more about cameras in those 2 hours than I could have learnt in 20 years with a regular camera. I know that to be a fact because my husband had a Pentex ME that I would not even touch for years.
Six weeks later we had to get Hubby HIS OWN camera. It has been 5 months and just under 4000 snaps later I have maybe a dozen photos worth sharing with the world, but near 100 on my flickr site, and I am not getting near the housework I should get done, done anymore.
Our son had purchased a Canon Rebel about 11 months ago, and our daughter picked up a Nikon a couple months later. I being the sensible woman that I am, thought it was a waste of money and that they were being foolish. Well, as I said earlier, 10 years ago I may have, or at least thought, I had an answer. But today I find I haven’t a clue.
I wrote this poem 3 years ago and I think it expresses wha tI am saying...
Hurry Up… And Wait
It’s a moment, a day, a mere passing of time,
And yet we treat it as something sublime.
We want to it pass. No we want it to last,
We want it to be as though looking through glass.
It all seems so clear, our passing of days,
Yet it seems as if walking through a fog-covered maze.
We look back and wonder how it all went so fast,
We gaze at the future, and want it to pass.
Would I go back, change the days that have gone?
Would I make sure tomorrow wouldn’t go wrong?
You know that I would and so would you,
But alas that is not something we’re meant to do.
I want to embrace each moment in time,
I want to believe it all will be fine.
A simple faith believing it’s not up to me,
A belief that it all was just meant to be.
So although there are burdens which make this day long,
I will rest with assurance that I’m where I belong.
It’s my hope that you find the peace that consoles,
The confidence that comes when someone “just knows.”

Just one more thing. Maybe two.
ALL MY PHOTOS AND POEMS ARE MY OWN.
I put them on here for your pleasure.
Please DO NOT COPY or reproduce them without asking me first. That would be like kidnapping and that is
JUST PLAIN WRONG
I also should add if you think frames and "Artsy Fartsy" things are tacky you may want to back away from any further contact with my stuff, cause, I happen to love it . It is a great way to shut me up for Hours at a time creating it, that makes Hubby happy too, so it must continue.

I just finished viewing another of Geri's photos and laughing out loud at the accompanying story. She's a photographer, yes, an astute visual observer of the world around her, and a loyal and true Flickr friend. I just finished viewing another of Geri's photos and laughing out loud at the accompanying story. She's a photographer, yes, an astute visual observer of the world around her, and a loyal and true Flickr friend. Those traits are reason enough to check out her photostream and become one of her contacts. But here's the thing: she's really a writer. It's her not-so-secret identity. I am truly enjoying watching that identity develop and reveal itself. I'm looking forward to more--photos and stories-- from Geri!
