Retired biologist running a river lodge and adventure company with my wife, Marié-Tinka and son, Philip. We live on an island in the Blyde River near Kruger Park, South Africa. We share the island with hippos, crocodiles, leopards, some 240 bird species, 111 tree species and countless species of insects, reptiles, grasses, herbs and shrubs. I use a general-purpose Nikon Coolpix 8800 with 8Mpx and 30-300mm equivalent zoom. I fancy its time-lapse function. One day, when I grow up, I might buy a reflex camera with WIDE and LOOONG lenses.
