OK. if you've come this far, you might be wondering, what's the deal with my screen name? Well, back in the 70's when I was young and impressionable, I noticed there were two kinds of photographers. There were the "I have a NIKON so my camera can beat up your camera" types, and the rest of us. I couldn't afford a Nikon F, (what 14 year old could in the early 70's?) so I had a Minolta SRT101. After outgrowing that, I bought a Canon F1, and that really got the occasional Nikon owner I'd meet into quite a lather debating the pros and cons between the F2AS, the Canon F1 and the "goofy" (their word, not mine) breech-lock lens mount that Canon used. It got to the point where I really started to activly dislike Nikon owners. The cameras I knew nothing about, aside from the fact that the lenses focused "backward" from everyone else's, and all the stuff Nikon sold was much more expensive than Canon, Pentax, Minolta and Olympus stuff. Eventually, my friend Larry and I started calling Nikon owners, "Damn Nikon Owners" - or DNO's. We had a great time poking fun at "them" and we were secure in the knowledge that our Canon F1's, EF's, FTs', FTb's and FTbn's (remember them?) were the equal to any crappy old Nikon.

Then, the unthinkable happened. Nikon brought out the F3. Worse yet, I LIKED it. And then, I bought one! Oh, no!! I became a DNO!

Well, that was lot of years ago, and while I've now owned Nikon for more years than I ever owned my wonderful F1, I can at least poke fun at myself here on Flickr.

OK. So go back out and look at more pictures instead of reading this.
