Thought Provoking is a description that immediately comes to mind when viewing Mr. Given's albums. Actually the images that he has assembled here cross into the realm of the extraordinary, even if at first glance they may seem banal. Hundreds of everyday moments are caught on film that give insight into past eras. Whether they are deliberately posed or candid, something comes through each photograph that stirs the emotions. And what an Artistic eye Mr. Given has! Each image is a gem. I find myself visiting his collection often for inspiration, along with wanting to have a touch stone of where we came from. So much has changed in our world since these photos were taken and to lose that connection with other eras would be tragic. This Flickr site should be required viewing for anyone interested in the past.
