A retired geologist, recycled into planetary geology, I also observe the downtown skies (light pollution and all !!) from my Bortle9+ backyard at night, and our star (the Sun) during the day. I use cameras and filters on my telescopes ... and software to post-process my images.
Having learned a critical amount regarding post-processing, in early 2026 I decided to revise my archive of astronomy images to constitute a catalogue of my electronically assisted astronomy (EAA) observations.
The catalogue has two primary purposes : (i) a visual record of those observations and the set-ups used to achieve them, and (ii) a guide to I can next point my telescope to observe more of the thousands of deep sky objects available to us all year round, and that change according to the season, that I have not yet seen. In addition, I hope that other camera-assisted observers might find some information here-in regarding how different filters perform on on different objects.
