i'm a writer & artist and love decorating with old things, especially antique textiles! my earliest memories are of "going junking" with my mom and her BFF.

i guess that's why my homes have at times looked like an antique shop.

(they sure as hell don't look like Ikea!!)

i love all things vintage and having a history.

i do incorporate some modern stuff, cuz ---hey, it's gotta be functional, right? (after all, we LIVE here!)

my husband, like me, stifled a lot of creativity over the years, while working in the corporate world. i wish i could say we quit & found ourselves but no. we escaped only due to circumstance -- i lost my job, he got very ill.

BUT we discovered our creative side & that's a blessing.

our home is teeny by most people's standards, especially in so cal. it's comfy & colorful, altho' it can be too much for some folks. my husband's projects have added a lot; he's been great at taking items that i refused to part with, and incorporating them as lights or as bathroom cabinets, etc.

(there's a separate set just for his projects, altho' i'm behind in adding photos.)

i change things periodically, so you'll see that some pictures reference a previous view of a room.

i might get bored and feel like a fresh color on the walls is in order.

or i'll find some wonderful item & need to incorporate it -- hence i'll need to re-arrange!

i love helping folks see how they can use old things, either as they are, or re-upholstered (i get the BEST fabrics on eBay, lol!) or perhaps re-painted.

i also used to have a decorative painting business, and focused quite a bit on rustic finishes and plasters.

i have a portion of my portfolio here, and i occasionally post items i have for sale.

thx for visiting!

and now, please go make something!

or write, or play in the dirt -- you know you want to!!
