Progressive Maryland is a grassroots, nonprofit organization of more than 15,000 members and supporters and over 50 affiliated religious, community, and labor organizations.

Through research, public education, and direct political action in Annapolis, Washington and communities statewide, we strive to improve the lives of working families in our state.

We are currently working to pass a law guaranteeing marriage equality, increase the state minimum wage, create living wage jobs, close corporate tax loopholes, insure that the wealthy pay their fair share of taxes and expand health care coverage in the state.

In the past we have successfully led the fight to pass a statewide living wage law, close corporate tax loopholes, raise the state’s minimum wage and were a big part of campaigns to expand workers’ rights, increase education funding and helping to elect progressive leaders throughout the state.

Progressive Maryland was founded in 2001 when Progressive Montgomery, Maryland Citizen Action and Maryland Citizen Agenda joined together.
