From the Director of "Killing Fields" and "The Mission", There Be Dragons is a Roland Joffe film, which features themes of betrayal, love and hatred, forgiveness, friendship, and finding meaning in everyday life.
A London-based investigative journalist Robert Torres (Dougray Scott) unearths secrets about his father, Manolo Torres (Wes Bentley) and his ties to the controversial founder of Opus Dei, Josemaria Escriva (Charlie Cox). But Robert hits a wall, both professionally and personally, when his most-promising source - his own father - turns out to be the least cooperative one. In his search for answers, Robert learns that Manolo and Josemaria were not only born in the same Spanish town, but were childhood friends who both attended the same seminary. A juxtaposition of their lives was presented as Josemaria dedicated his life to his faith and Manolo immersed in the brutal and tumultuous Spanish Civil War.
