Hi!
I'm Rebecca from Sew Festive. I I love the online blog and flickr community; there's so much inspiration here!
Some of my sewing/quilting favorites:
-rich/saturated/jewel tones
-blues, greens, and yellows
-Essex linen
-hand-quilting
-geometric prints
-HSTs
-using patterns that showcase the print of the fabric
-simple patterns with intricate quilting
Some dislikes:
-pastel colors
-an overall red palette; I prefer the red to be very minimal and used as an accent/statement piece
-super wonky; a little wonk is ok!
-when the quilting is so dense that the fabric can't drape/soften over time as nicely [this applies to things such as blankets]
-not big on pink either, unless its a very saturated rich pink, and its better if it leans more toward magenta/cerise
-large floral fabrics [ie, Nicey Jane and AMH florals]
A little general information about me:
I work for an Orlando nonprofit.
My taste leans more towards classic and understated, and although I do love some of the girly things out there [and you will see some in my favorites], I'm just not sure how they would fit in with my current aesthetic.
I drink wwaaayyyy too much coffee, I love to bake, Thanksgiving/Christmas is my favorite time of year for the decorations and food and spirit in the air, I am a Harry Potter fanatic, FRIENDS is probably my all-time favorite tv show, I'm a fair hand at drawing and painting and I'm a lifetime Girl Scout.
I recently managed to snag a hobby room in my apartment that I share with my boyfriend where my sewing stuff sits next to his paintball/airsoft gear. I'm slowly filling it with minis and other inspiration, as well as constantly trying to organize in a nice way!
