Drag to set position!
May 13th 2017 saw the release of my set of Lundy Island stamps... 'Birds of Lundy'. 5 stamps in Chromacolour acrylic;..Water Rail with chicks, Wheatear's, Manx Shearwater, the famous Lundy Puffin and Peregrine Falcon.
I have always wanted to do a Lundy stamp issue ever since I started collecting them as a child in the late 80's.
I worked together with Lundy's stamp commissioner Lars Liwendahl (in Sweden) to produce this set. The red presentation pack was sold out in the first 5 months of issue.
11th March 2025 (my 2nd) stamp set release for Lundy.. Lundy Bird Observatory!!
I am an amateur artist & wildlife photographer.
Due to gastrointestinal/hormone ill health life is a struggle. I can only manage a few days when I am out taking photo's of wildlife or landscapes that I could use to paint from or keep as a growing library of images to look back on as treasured memories.
Spring & Autumn are just magical to me; either on a sea-cliff path or woodland track.
I love painting, airbrushing and working with Karisma's (now known as Prismacolor Premium pencils) & Aero Color acrylic inks with acrylic Chromacolour. I'm still trying to find my art-path in life but I can never be tired of painting Barn Owls and Kingfishers the ideal subjects to put into beautiful settings.
Lundy is just the perfect place to me, I'm so lucky to live in beautiful North Devon.
In the summer of 2011 I lost my SD card with thousands of pictures; my most rewarding was the Dartford Warbler in 2010; I was so close my camera couldn't focus, it was heartbreaking to loose so many years.
Now armed with a Canon-Powershot SX60, I am pleased with the colour quality and focus compared to the Panasonic Lumix but it's still too slow for my liking and not as crisp as I would like. Hopefully one day I will be able to afford a camera with the sharpness I desire with more than 100x!!!?
