Hello all! My name is Cassidy Page and I am a senior at Polaris Expeditionary Learning School. Starting this August, I was taking a photography class with my school. Before I was enrolled in this class I had experimented with photography a little bit, but didn't have a strong understanding of concepts such as; composition, lighting, perspective, advanced Photoshop techniques, and overall interestingness. Now though, I feel like I have a much better grasp on these topics. On my Flickr page I have albums dedicated to these concepts, so if you would like you can go and check those out.

Through taking this class I had the chance to explore different types of photography including, different subject matters, and different styles (such as black and white photos, colored photos) portraits, landscapes, and different types of lighting. Being exposed to all these different kinds of photography made me learn what appealed to me and what doesn't.

When I am the one shooting, I like to take portraits, landscapes, and pictures of my puppy (her name is Daisy and she is really really cute). For editing on my portraits I am going through a black and white phase. Having my portraits in black and white it has been making me experiment with different types of lighting so that I can get interesting shadows in my portraits. With my landscape shots I like to shoot during the sunrise or the sunset because it gives a very flattering light on the landscape. I also have a tendency to shoot on foggy days, because it is just super cool.

I don't really like using advance photoshop techniques just because I am not good at them yet. I prefer to do simple edits on photoshop to make my photos look more natural.

I own a Nikon D3100 and that is what I use for most of my shots. For editing I use Photoshop Elements 9, and tend to only enhance the pictures rather than alter them completely.

If you enjoy my work then coolio.
