I'm a botanist, head of the Western Australian Herbarium, with a particular research interest in Proteaceae and Hibbertia. Photography is mostly black-field studio macro work to capture maximum detail and maximum depth of field of the subject. I have an immense respect for people who take great photos in the vagaries of the field - I just can't do it!

Almost all of the plants photographed are vouchered in the Western Australian Herbarium. The names on the photographs, then, are reasonably authoritative. As names of the voucher specimens are updated by taxonomic experts I'll endeavour to keep the flickr names up-to-date also.
