My teaching background is in the elementary grades, with an emphasis on hands-on math. It was my passion to help kids "see" math concepts and make connections between what they were learning in class and what happens outside of class.

As an instructor/presenter for Math Their Way/Math...A Way of Thinking and Prime Presentations, I have worked with teachers and administrators all over the United States helping them integrate hands-on math into their curriculum.

In 2006, my husband and I started a company, Kidnexions. Our first product, released in 2007, was a kids' savings and money management software program called KidsSave. I then began teaching elementary and middle school kids how to prepare for their financial futures. I wrote a book along the same lines, Raised for Richness, which won the National Parenting Publications 2010 Gold Award in the parenting resources category.

My current project takes me back to my roots in elementary math. In order to build strong family-school partnerships, I am creating a series of Family Math Night kits. These 'open-the-box-and-go' kits were specifically designed to take all the work out of putting on a family math night event. My first kit is called Nifty Numbers.

I sit on the Advisory Panel for ZiggityZoom.com, a site dedicated to informing parents about relevant issues in positive parenting. I also sit on the Advisory Board for Creative Wealth International.
