I hail from Dallas, Tx where I was born and raised. From 1998 to 2001 I attended Texas A&M University @ Galveston where I earned my BS in Marine Sciences. From 2002 until 2003 I attended Florida Institute of Technology and earned my MS in Environmental Science.

After graduating from Florida Institute of Technology my wife, Misti, and I moved to South Florida. I worked in the environmental consulting industry until we had the crazy idea of hiking the entire 2,179 mile Applaachian Trail.

In February of 2010 we both quite our jobs, packed up all our stuff, and on March 13, 2010 left Springer Mt., GA to hike to Katahdin, ME. We completed the hike on August 11, 2010, almost a month faster than planned.

I am passionate about exploring nature and hope you enjoy my photographs I have taken along the way.
