Retired RN Medical Officer, NHS GP, and MOD CMP.

Mostly my material, but some historical borrowed pics mostly to record my Dad's naval career.

My parents had a box camera, 'look down' view finder on top, and used 120 film. Given the cost of developing and printing it was used sparingly. I had a grey plastic Ilford Sprite from age about 10. It used 127 roll film. Few decent images were ever achieved mostly as a result of poor technique. Occasionally used a 126 Instamatic late 60s, early 70s.

I've used a variety of cameras since my first SLR, a Zenit B in 1975 - using a hand held light meter is a rite of passage.

From 1982 a Pentax ME Super, with added Vivitar 28-85mm zoom from 1984. Later a Pentax MZ-M.

From 1982 to 1984 use of an RN Canon 35mm rangefinder.

A couple of Olympus µ compacts. (one was dropped on a hard floor)

Then onto digital in 2004. First a Fujifilm FinePix. This had an annoying delay in shutter activation. Unless held steady for a second or two lots of images were blurred.

Soon after a Sony Cybershot.

Occasional use of a Nikon D3000 from 2010.

For low light level non-flash music gig photography a Nikon D610 in 2014.

And of course the ubiquitous iPhones.

I've digitised some of my old negs and slides with a Nikon Coolscan. And scanned some decent prints.

Within reason I try to avoid shopping and cropping.
