Having done no photography since dabbling in a bit of SLR 35mm film many years ago, I was given a Canon SX30 bridge camera in 2011.

I had some terribly disappointing shots with the SX30 but others on Flickr inspired me to persevere and gave me some valuable tips. I had the SX30 for few months but it had to be sent for repairs and developed another fault that did not get resolved, so I upgraded to the SX40.

The SX40 was good and I began to enjoy photography, especially birds and wildlife. After having it for 9 months I then also acquired a Canon SLR as I needed something faster focusing for wildlife shots.

Having an SLR was another huge learning curve! Then I tried some rudimentary editing in Photoshop Elements, which was another learning curve.

In 2015 I joined a Camera Club and then subscribed to Lightroom. Despite preferring wildlife photography I then tried other genres.

Now (2023) have migrated to mirrorless.

I am keen to learn anything about photography, so any tips are appreciated.
