My Dad first introduced me to photography & let me use his Pentax and Minolta SLRs back in the 70s. He used to love taking scenery shots & mostly used slide film for this.

Striking out on my own I bought my first SLR camera - the Olympus OM1n - back in the mid 80s, and was guided by a family member on film and darkroom development.

My first venture in to Digital was a Leica (aka Fujifilm) 1.5MP camera that cost about £300 and used a forerunner of today's SD card.

After a long lapse in photography for anything other than family and holiday snaps, I picked up the DSLR bandwagon in 2008 by purchasing the Olympus E-520 with kit lenses:

14-42mm

70-300mm

Since then I purchased a whole set of Olympus DSLRs (E30, E-600, E-620, E-420) and various high quality lenses to go with them.

Having held on to see what was going to happen with Four Thirds, I purchased 2 E-PL2 Micro Four Thirds & was really taken with them.

In Easter 2013, I took the plunge in getting an E-M5 & felt this was the route for me. I subsequently traded nearly all my DSLRs and lenses to get a full set of Micro Four Thirds lenses.

Always looking to improve, I only consider myself an amateur. I enjoy posting the best of my own photos and looking at the variety of those posted by others
