I am a "kid at heart" (Love those senior discounts) from Lubbock, Texas who has lived all over the U.S. including 4 years in Key West. I love God, the USA and Texas, Jimbo my husband of 41 years, my extended family and my friends. We have four children, 13 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren. I have my own grants acquisition and research business and I work from home.

 

I really don't sew, but I taught myself to quilt about 15 years ago...LOVING IT! In addition to quilting, I also enjoy growing things in my garden and photography.

 

I am a Christian and grateful and blessed to be a daughter of the King.

 

My pets are awesome!!! I have two doggos, Lu-Lu Luna and Buddy. And 1 kitty, Dolly Parton (Because she has a coat of many colors)

FABRIC and QUILTING

 

FAVORITE FABRIC DESIGNERS: None, really. I have a long-lasting love with traditional fabrics AND I am just learning about modern fabric and starting to love it too. I am NOT a fabric snob so if I like something from Joann’s, or an estate sale, that is all that matters. I do sort of draw the line at the big box, mainly because you can generally see through their fabrics.

 

FABRIC FAVORITES: I am very flighty and can never decide. It sort of depends on who I am making something for at the moment. I ALWAYS gravitate to French General colors and patterns.

 

FABRIC COLORS: LIKES: Muted green, winter red, bright orange and soft yellows. I also like black and white. I like bright colored batiks with definite patterns (leaves, flowers, insects, animals, birds, etc.) DISLIKES: Pastels, Pink, little-bitty flowers, Civil War..

 

FABRIC DESIGN/PATTERN: Medium geometrics, medium/small stripes and dots, ANYTHING paisley, blenders, text and Low Volume.

 

FABRIC DISLIKES: Juvenile novelties, thirties, civil war. Nothing with a really large pattern (it is hard for me to incorporate.)

 

NOTIONS: 45mm Rotary blades and Machine Needles. Pieces of fusible interfacing, fusible fleece, Pellon that is fusible on both sides, rolls of ¼” Steam-a-Seam. Thimbles in size small. Self-threading hand needles and/or large eye needles for hand work. Sturdy needle threaders and seam rippers.

 

CURRENTLY “NEEDED” for STASH: Deep purple and plum; Butter yellow, Lime Green, Navy, Modern Greys.

 

HOME DECORf6 COLORS: Warm Reds and Golds, Muted Greens.

 

HOLIDAY DÉCOR COLORS: Christmas (red, white , silver); Autumn and Thanksgiving (Gold, green, brick red)

 

HOLIDAYS: We don’t celebrate Halloween, but love Thanksgiving, autumn and Christmas. No Easter Bunnies but celebrating Resurrection Day is a must.
