Congratulations... if you're reading this, it means you've discovered Doug's photostream. It's never disappointing. Doug -- or as we in Flickrland call him, Teewinot -- is an amazing photographer. His photos will leave you in awe. He has a gift for capturing the exact moment when the light is at its best, and his images are full of vibrant color and clear, crisp detail. He is, in my humble opinion, one of the best on Flickr. Tee is also a great mentor. He has always been willing to give me feedback and offer tips and techniques that have helped me learn and grow as a photographer. His knowledge has been invaluable to me. Enjoy your journey through Teewinot's photostream... it's quite a treat!

Teewinot's great love of the Tetons is plainly manifest in his choice of handle. And boy can he shoot the Tetons. I first met Doug a couple of years ago in Yellowstone and even though we were both tired, the first thing he did was take a few moments to answer some of my questions about GND filters. I mention this because Doug is incredibly generous with his store of wisdom about photography. Doug and his wife visited us last summer and it was an absolute education to watch him photograph my "home turf" with his medium format rig. Each composition was carefully selected and the light carefully read to make just the right exposure. What I am trying to say is that genuine thought goes into each and every shot, even if he may not be happy with it. I love the colors that Doug is able to pull out of the landscape and his ability to capture depth and contrast that nature sets before him. I can honestly say that I learn a little something from each and every shot that he posts. Rock on Teewinot.

Tee's photos are tee-rrific! Whether it's film or digital, you can be assured Tee knows the technical aspects of lighting and equipment like few I've ever known. The amazing thing about Tee's work is he backs up his technical know-how with inspiring creativity and a keen eye for composition. From the deserts of the southwest to the geysers of Yellowstone to the majestic Colorado Rockies, especially Grand Tee-ton National Park, you'll find some of the best images taken from these areas in Teewinot's photostream. But more importantly, he likes Chipotle® burritos, and isn't that what it's really all about?

Doug is one of my favorite photographers. I was so thrilled a few years ago when he move to one of my favorite areas, Colorado. I knew a bunch of Rocky Mountain "eye candy" was forthcoming. Technically excellent! Doug really knows his stuff about cameras, exposure, lighting, composition, and all aspects of photography. He's at his best in the sweet light of the "magic hour."
Read lessMy buddy Teewinot knows his stuff. And he's awfully good with his beloved 50mm lens on a Nikon 35mm body. I've had the pleasure of shooting with him a couple of times and I must say the creative juices were flowing. Here's hoping we can get together again soon! Over and out©, Bubba Mediocrates
