Professional photographer in Vancouver for more than twenty five years. I have shot a variety of work for corporate and advertising clients: architecture, interiors, people, products, travel. My images are marketed around the world by AGE Fotostock, Farmboy Fine Arts and Canadian Press Images.

My theatre images are seen in the Vancouver media: Globe and Mail, Sun, Straight, Courier, Playbill.

Clients have included TD, Holt Renfrew, Cargill, Victaulic, BC Business, Photo Life, BC Home, Canadian Business, Picture BC, Coast Capital.

I teach photography at False Creek Community Centre and a course in architectural photography at Langara College.

I also do one to one tutoring with people with new cameras who want to learn to use them and learn to see light and composition. That makes a good gift to your favourite photographer.

I speak Spanish and taught an architect/photographer in Chile who wanted private lessons from me here in Vancouver. Did I mention that I was an English teacher too? Hablo espanol bastante bien y me gustaria ensenar a la gente hispanoparlante.

Here's what David said of my private lesson with him:

"I signed up with Vancouver Photo Workshops for a weekend intensive course and they canceled it at the last minute! After booking off that entire weekend and canceling other commitments, I was pissed. I took a 3 hour private lesson with Doug Williams and it was awesome. It ended up being cheaper than the Vancouver Photo Workshops course and took way less time. I felt like I learned just as much as I would have doing a weekend course because it was 1-on-1 and the teaching was tailored specifically for my level".

Thanks for those good words, David!

I am one of the more than 60 artists in the group Artists in Our Midst. We have an annual open studio show in the spring.
