What does this retired elementary school teacher have in common with a kindergartener? Recess!!!! I recently retired from 35 years of teaching and implementing creative learning experiences for elementary school children. And today I’m happily enjoying unlimited recess time.

For the last 3 years I've been known as "Kayshine" on flickr and have loved sharing and exchanging lessons with other photographers. In the beginning I felt like I was dropped into an advanced calculus class with but an abacus. But other photographers fostered my passion and continue to help in my home schooling.

As my creativity and interest in digital / smudge painting evolved my postings on Kayshine were becoming eclectic. Family and friends weren't sure if they were seeing a photo or a painting. A very high compliment in my book!

Therefore I established a new second account,"Jan/kShine", for my sketches and paintings.

I'm hoping each account will happily coexist within flickr while my connections with other artisans grows and grows.

I'll be maintaining my contacts on Kayshine and so I'm going to ease into this account so not to get in over my head.
