I learned film camera and darkroom skills in high school, in the mostly mythical 1970s. I went all digital with the rest of the world in the early oughts, but then was gifted a couple of film classics some years later and got hooked again. Over the.course of a decade or so I cycled through forty or fifty cameras, buying and selling, fixing and discarding, bingeing and purging , increasingly the latter. I’d fancied myself cured until a year or so ago. Now I’m assembling a wee stable of cast offs, rejects and semi-functional also-rans, not unlike myself.
