I am English, live in Nottinghamshire (Robin Hood land), and have spent most of my life in the construction industry. Later I ran my own business in construction but wildlife has been a life-long interest. I was also, for several years, a nature reserve warden and later studied ecology at Nottingham University.

It was not until last year that I took up photography. Now I know the pleasure that I have been missing and that all the sights I have seen through binoculars and telescopes are memories which could have been permanently recorded as photographs.

I want to be a good wildlife photographer and welcome any constructive criticism or advice. I am also happy to help anyone with the identification of any British and Northern European species, if I can, but sometimes this cannot be done from a photograph alone. Other times I am simply unable to make a positive identification but I do enjoy the challenge.

I find Flickr to be so interesting. I enjoy looking at shots of different species of plants, insects, birds and animals from across the world and seeing the world around us through the eyes of others. We live in an amazing and beautiful world and are fortunate that, via the technology of today, no-one is any longer a stranger.

I am deeply interested in the natural world and the inter-relationship of different species within the biomass. I sincerely hope that you find my photo stream interesting.

For a while I have been caring for my mother who is 95 and this has become more and more demanding on my time. My opportunity to get out with the camera is frustratingly diminished but I will try to keep my Flickr site active. Please accept my apologies if I get behind with comments or don't post for periods.
