I was born in New Jersey and received a BBA Degree from Upsala College in East Orange.

 

While in the US Army, I graduated from Ranger School at Fort Benning, GA. I qualified for my senior wings after making 36 Jumps as a member of the 11th Airborne Division. One of my most memorable events was during my tour of duty in Germany on a training mission with a Special Forces Group; a select group from my company flew to England to prepare for a night jump into Germany. Our mission was to train a group of partisan in weaponry and explosives. Our big surprise was when we were taken to the airfield and loaded into a B29 Bomber and told our night jump would be exiting from the Bombay Doors at 1100 feet.

 

I met my wife Ruth at Upsala College. We were college sweethearts. Ruth & I have four grown children: Bob E., Eric, Derek & Jennifer. We are the proud grandparents of 2 grandsons, 5 granddaughters and 1 great-grandson.

 

I have been a Frederick County resident for 35 years and have been actively involved with the Rotary Club of Frederick for the past 25 years. I am also involved with the General Boyd Cook Memorial Foundations, Inc., which helps returning veterans find homes.
