I would describe myself as an enthusiastic amateur photographer just starting to get to grips with the digital medium. I frequently used to use a couple of Pentax film SLR's many years ago, I think they're gathering dust in my loft.

My photographs, in the most part, are of holidays, days out, and walks around my home town, and are generally taken hand held using a Canon EOS 500D or Panasonic DMC-TZ5, although there are a few taken with a Nikon E3100 scattered amongst the rest.

Addendum: After buying a Nikon D7000 for my daughter as a Christmas present, I decided to try it out a few times and enjoyed the results. This has led to me splashing out on a Nikon D7100 as a present to myself. Now I've got to figure out what all the buttons do. I hope I'm up to the task!

Having not mastered the voluminous menus of my D7100 I've been a d gone and bought a D500, possibly a sign of madness.

I hope that my images will prove interesting, and ask that you forgive any technical inefficiencies or glitches. For my part, I hope to learn more from the study of better photographers than myself (there appear to be plenty of you out there) and any constructive feedback and criticism that they may wish to give.

Of late, I have been trying to catalogue some of the more interesting. important, atypical, or buildings which are representative of The Potteries (Stoke-on-Trent) for posterity. It is a personal view, and has come about because of the changes I have seen during my lifetime. So many important or interesting buildings have been lost or demolished, and so few images or details appear to be available to remind me of their appearance. Hopefully people may find my images, and maybe come to realise the wonders that surround them, or act as a reminder of their past. If anyone has any additional information or stories regarding these images, please feel free to add your comments, it may act as a sort of social history for anybody that is interested.
