Lightroombeginner, my first handle, is a good description of where I started from last year, around June, with the exploration of lightroom processing. I've tried very hard not to over-process as the light of the Los Angeles Region is magical enough to bestow at Magic Hour, the aurora of saints around people, thus this is truly the City of the Angels, and though we be devils, the light here, transforms us.

I am moving towards launching a part-time event and advertising photography business, around Decembert, 2012.

I spent the second half of last year specifically training, veering towards candids and street photography with an emphasis on people. In December of last year, I bought 3 speedlights. I am now up to four and my goal is to have eight. I also bought radio triggers, and a reflector, two umbrellas and currently have four lighting stands.

In view of the progress I made I changed the handle to LAstarshooter.

I prefer outdoor shoots. Or shooting in and around a house.

I have two cameras: the Nikon D7000 and the 5000. I may around the end of 2012 buy the full-frame 700.

I shoot with fixed lens, avoiding the temptation of the 2.8 zoom magnificence, in favour of the 50mm 1.8 and the 85mm 1.8f. Mostly it is is the 85mm that lens has been focused on models, as I build the image library for my yet-be-raised website. The one I currenly have is temporary.

By December I hope to have turned my apartment into a headshot studio.

I know have Photoshop Cs5 so I can do layering and I do most processing in Lightroom 3.6
