The nudibranch is a particular sea slug, specifically a member of order Opisthobranchia and family Nudipleura, which has its gills outside of its body in organs known as cerata. They are known for their vibrant colors and preference for some of the most toxic organisms in the sea. They feed on poisonous poriferans, cnidarians, and bryozoans, and, thus, use their bright pigmentation to display to possible predators, "If you eat me, you will probably die a horrible, painful death." Now do you see why I love them so much?
