Began with a 120 Diana camera, learned darkroom skills, shot semi-pro in university and now am starting over with digital and photoshop!

I like to study technique and try to predict what I will capture but ultimately think that the best approach is to improve your technical knowledge of your equipment, light and composition and then let your artistic eye loose.

One without the other will produce poor pictures.

You can't force a good picture with only technical knowledge nor can you do so only with a desire to be "artistic" without technical knowledge.

I am not a believer, therefore, in the "happy accident". As they say, "Luck favours the well prepared".
