The Scottish Fire Service College is based in Gullane, East Lothian.

The work of the Scottish Fire Services College is overseen by the Director of Fire Service Training for Scotland. In addition to this remit the Director is responsible for administering centrally funded learning and development activity for all the SFRS.

The staff of the College consist of Scottish Government employees and secondees from the Fire & Rescue Services. In all there are 38 members of staff working at the College carrying out a variety of functions including programme delivery, estates management, administration, ICT support and development of programmes for managers operating within the SFRS. There is also a Learning and Development Team made up of SG staff and secondees. This team works on the development and support of L&D initiatives and programmes for SFRS personnel.

Seconded Fire Service staff are in the main involved in the delivery of programmes. Secondments are usually for a period of two years.
