Create Coherence on trade and development is a consortium of European NGOs and fair trade organizations aimed to

- Create public debate and lead public opinion on the development impacts of EU trade and aid for trade policies and the challenges that exist in making European trade and development policies coherent.

- Engage a broad range of European civil society groups in awareness raising and advocacy work on European trade and aid for trade policies and their impacts on the environment and local communities, in particular by building capacity on these issues in Eastern Europe.

- Promote a programme of change by decision-makers at national, European and international levels aimed at implementing a more coherent approach to trade and aid for trade policies to achieve the MDGs, in solidarity with civil society proposals from developing countries;

- Increase media coverage of the issues in the partner countries and in pan-European media and establish closer linkages with interested media actors

- Achieve a better knowledge and acceptance of alternative production initiatives, ethical trade and consumption practices which contribute to environmental protection and human development, with the involvement and empowerment of new economic actors both in the North and the South.
