We stay in Kirriemuir at the foot of the Angus Glens in eastern Scotland , twenty miles north of Dundee.

Disappointed with the No vote in the referendum recently but our time will come ..

Keen outdoor people , we have been walking in the Scottish Mountains most of our adult lives and completed our round of the Munros back in 2001.

Our interest in photography was kindled a few years ago with the sight of a rare Black Throated Diver passing by us as we sat on the shores of Loch Maree in the western Highlands with only a mickey mouse camera to take a few pics , not very successfully !

Returning to the local Hotel for dinner , we saw a fabulous 5' print of a Diver on the Loch displayed in the bar and thought we wanted to take similar shots . So it began..

For the past few years , we book a holiday cottage in the spring up in the Loch Maree area to allow us to look for Divers which are our favourite bird species , along with birds found on the tops of the Scottish hills .

EF 17- 40 f/4
