Luis is currently pursuing a master’s degree in library information science at San José State University. Luis earned his bachelor’s degree in print journalism from Cal State University Long Beach and an associate’s degree from Rancho Santiago College (now Santa Ana College). Santa Ana College awarded him a Certificate in Television/Video Media Studies.

Luis has worked as a local community reporter in the past, along with photography work at one community newspaper, and has done some freelance work.
