Bureau SLA is a young Amsterdam-based architecture design practice. It was founded by Peter van Assche in 2002. Keen, flexible and intelligent with a horizon as wide and far reaching as the Dutch skies. Our international team consists of architects, interior designers, landscape architects and is supported by an architecture historian and a real estate portfolio manager.

Bureau SLA's work ranges from large scale urban design to vision statements, to museums, a cemetery, to a full moon bathroom. Whatever the scale or budget, every single project is characterised by an open approach to our clients' needs. We do not believe in standardised work methods. The result: fresh and startling designs that last.

The abbreviation 'SLA' stands for 'Stedenbouw, Landschap & Architectuur' which in Dutch means 'Urban Planning, Landscape and Architecture'. It not only indicates the range of our projects, but - more important - reflects the philosophy of our work: integration. A building is better when connected to its environment, a large scale urban plan must be based on the way people will live, work and relax. Each project of bureau SLA is and will be an expression of integration on these three levels: city, landscape and architecture.
