Lyme disease has taken away much of my passion in life. In those moments of hopeless failure, the World outside my window lived on. And I took notice. This camera and life outside my window are my new medicine for this disease.
I am a very beginner, if such a word is better understood. I have spent only a handful of hours photographing during the past 10 years. This is my one and only camera, which I purchased outside of Graphic Design school nearly 10 years ago. It is a start.
In my heart and memory I have one great inspiration, my Stepfather, Len Sargent. Growing up with my family, Saturday nights were spent piled on the living room sofa awaiting the first slide that would appear on the brightly lit screen in front of us 20 times its real life size. Would it be a close-up of a spider that would send popcorn spilling from our bowls as we ran out of the room in horror? Or would he amaze us with a stunning macro photo of a sticky looking Sundew plant which grew outside our childhood home living on on a cranberry bog?
He’s my inspiration. Here's to the journey and to our health.
